it's been awhile

I know this. I have been swamped with school, surprise surprise. no exciting news, feeling very overwhelmed, but all in all things are going fine. I am happy that the academic portion of school is nearing it's end and that I will soon get to put on the last coat i'll ever wear (anybody?). white coat ceremony is next october. That's right, I said october. Most people wouldn't be thinking about october in the middle of january but I certainly am. It's countdown time people. In about one month, I will be starting my surgery classes and that is when I will go bald from ripping my hair out one strand at a time while I'm trying to pass.

maxin and relaxin'

summer is so wonderful. mainly because there is no school to make it stressful. I'm all moved into my new place now and my cat is fan-freakin-tastic. he's the coolest cat in the whole world. he's a little lovebug and likes to keep me company. It hasn't been as lonely as i thought it would be though, and that is nice. I think it could be b/c I'm only really in como when i'm working and then i'm pretty busy or i make plans with my friends that are also in town. Only 3 more weeks till i have to go back....boo... we start on the 21st. i guess it's 2 weeks from monday, that's so short!!! but this next block shouldn't be too bad anyway. we get out of class before 1pm 3 days/week!! i'm super excited about that one, let me tell ya. we have parasitology, bacT, pathology, and virology. i hear they are boring but i can handle a little boring if that means i have to spend less time in class/at school. I will be able to go home for lunch and actually see the light of day on most days.
My aunt and uncle came and we all had a great visit. it was fun to see them again and not much has changed. I just hope that it won't be another 10 years before I see them again.
In CT now visiting with my dad and stepmom and friends. Jon came with me. we are here till sunday when we get back to our daily lives/routines. I kinda wish I had more time to visit with friends, since most of them work, I don't get to see them as much as I would've liked.
Whelp, that's it. the updates of my summer so far.

no, i'm not dead....

just enjoying the fact that i don't have to show up for class anymore for 5 more weeks. it's fantastic.
i'm moving tomorrow, well actually today, after working the overnight that i am working right now. we will see how well that goes. i'm super excited though, i get to decorate it myself and i get my cat tomorrow!! i will post pics of him when i take them, his name is bagel and he's a mainecoon. he's beautiful.
other than that i have been working and packing. can't wait to get it all moved so i can finally relax some. it will be nice.
plus my aunt and uncle come to visit from canada in a week! woohoo! i haven't seen them in 10 years.
knee is doing wonderfully, still not 100% but getting better all the time. i'm spinning now, 2x/week and trying to get in the elliptical another 2x. plus trying to lift 3x/week with all that. it's tough to get my butt to the gym but i really need to lose this extra weight and i need to keep rehabing so i can continue to get better. the worst part right now is running, the compression hurts my knee and i'm sore the whole rest of the night when i do it. but i have to or my PT would kill me if i didnt. Almost at 4months, i'm supposed to be healed by 5. we will see if i agree...
too tired to think, gonna go drink a soda to try and stay awake, no critical patients tonight and not that many patients to take care of as it is, so lots of down time tonight and i'm trying not to fall asleep.....

2 more weeks!!!

and i will be a free woman for 6 whole weeks!!! well...not really, i do still have a job....but free from school!!!!! this is the most exciting thing in my life right now. if i can get through finals i will be free for the rest of the summer.
glorious summer....i have missed thee.
this will mean many afternoons out sunning myself and taking vacation (going to CT to visit!). I have family coming in from canada who i haven't seen in 10 years! i can't wait to see them again and catch up.
and at the end of this month, the day after my last final actually, i will be flying to texas for my friend's wedding. that should be a blast. get to go into mexico and go to south padre island!!!

I am such a slacker

I know this. I haven't posted on here for awhile and I almost forgot I had this blog! My computer hasn't been hooked up since we got carpet in my place, cuz my desk got broken in the midst of moving everything for the carpet guys. Now that I have one again, I don't want to set it up since I will be moving in just over a month. I am getting a kittie!!!! His name is Bagel and he is beautiful!!!! He's middle aged as far as cats go but still very playful and frisky! I can't wait. He will be mine when I move into my new place. Other than that, I'm just doing school stuff and hanging out with friends and my boyfriend. This is a much less stressful block and I am very thankful for that. Got a really nice coffee table and 2 end tables from my ma for my birthday, and I think I might be getting a chest of drawers from her too. woohoo! I was in a wedding yesterday for my friend Jeannine. It was really a beautiful ceremony and our bouquets were gorgeous. Her dress was beautiful and she looked great in it. no big snafus thank god and she seemed really happy with the way things went. so good news all around. Now I just have 1 more wedding this summer that I'm in and that is in a month down in Texas for my friend Beth. This is going to be a very busy summer. later gators.

finally a 2nd year

and it feels great. to have anatomy over means that i have time to myself again and time to enjoy the day. especially since the sun doesn't set until 8:30 now. I can come home for lunch on some days and watch some tv at night and just relax every now and again. it's been wonderful and i feel so much happier since it ended. Tomarrow is our 1st anatomy coat burning party. not an official party but one that we decided we should have to possibly start a tradition. it will be a nice big fire i'm sure.

we have our first test tomarrow in this new block. shouldn't be too hard and i think if i put in the work i might be able to pull off all A's. and i really need that for my GPA. I'm not doing terribly but would like to raise my GPA. and this block could help me do it.

whelp time to go and study more. no new news otherwise. i am going home to celebrate my birthday and mothers day this weekend with my family. super excited. and i signed my lease for my very own apt last week. no roomies and no problems. woohoo!

anatomy is almost over. we just had our 2nd to last test today. this was the last hard test we will have in there and i think i pulled off a B. if i can get a B this block in anatomy i will be going out with a bang. super excited. this week has been long. had two tests on monday, one on tuesday,anatomy today and i still have to take an immunology quiz today before midnight (it's online). then i will be free!!! thank the lord.
the vet school is having open house this weekend. it's where we open our school up to the public and give tours and have events all day. it's tomorrow and i'm working. i'm excited but then again not excited cuz i have to be here so early in the morning to help out. and then i have to drive home for my sister's birthday tomorrow night. i am definatly excited to see my family. i love to spend time with them. and i can't wait to see jon. didnt get to see him this past weekend due to all of these damn tests i had.
knee is doing really well, almost back at full range of motion already and it's only been 4 weeks!
on a sidenote, i am finally spreading my wings. i have decided to get my own apartment. just me, 1 bedroom and no roommates. it's gonna be a great experience for me. i decided a long time ago that i wanted to do that someday before i get married, and now just feels like the right time.
